Running Pre-mix in oil injection ski

Is it bad to run premix in an oil injected ski if the oil tank is empty but there is no oil block off installed?

Depends on the machine. What make and model?

1996 Yamaha Waveblaster 1, stock engine.

Previous owner had been using premix, but left the oil tank intact and attached.

Won't really hurt it but if your going to run pre-mix you should just buy the $10 block off plate and pull the pump at least. My opinion.

Assuming the oil injection pump is still connected?

Running the engine without oil in the tank will wear out (ruin) the pump.

The oil injection pump depends on the injector oil to lubricate the pump. Without
the oil, the pump will run dry and wear out.

The plan is to remove (removed already) the pump anyways then I am not sure it matters
