Re: Dana Point to Seal Beach & Back Presented by Jettrim, JetLift, Hydro-Turf

    Racers:

As of yesterday's deadline (Sunday,October 8th) we had 14 riders signed up to race which is well short of the 25 needed to make this race happen. At this time the race has been cancelled due to low participation.

I am now trying to figure out the 2018 season. Besides the Mark Hahn 300 on February 24th and LB2CAT slated for July 8th is there really enough interest from the Offshore PWC racing community to even consider holding future events like Dana Point to Oceanside or Dana Point to Seal Beach?

I am asking you, the racer, to give me some feedback on what we can do together to generate interest as the awesome video made by WCWCC - (Thank you Steven Reyes/Lewis Lipstone!!!) https://www.facebook.com/wcwcrd/ that was posted all over fb, pwctoday.com, greenhulk.net, pwcoffshore, etc. and the great flyer (attached) made by Jeff Lane (Thank you Jeff!!) and was also posted on all social media sites and sent out to many dealers/shops in So. Cal. was, to date, the biggest advertisement done to get racers interested in the sport/event and yet, not for lack of trying, failed to spur enough interest.

One thing to be clear is that in order to get sponsors/advertisers there must be enough interest by participants to sell to a sponsor. We lost our biggest sponsor to date, Hot Products, due to low participation/turnout in 2016.

I don't know where the future is for this sport but I'd like to see it comeback and grow as it's a great sport but it's going to take interest and committed racers to move this sport forward.

I look forward to hearing from you. I will be going out of town tomorrow (Oct. 10th) and returning on the 17th. I hope you can take some time and think of how we can get more riders involved and grow this great sport! Please email me your thoughts and ideas to rpmracingent@yahoo.com

    All the best!

    Sincerely,
