    Motor upgrade question

I have a 91 650 VXR waverunner and just got a 62T J700F motor with the computer. Will it fit into this 650 hull?

Engines are the same phyiscal size and bolt up the same. Only thing is you will want toport match your 650 exhaust manifold to match the port size on the 700.

    Re: Motor upgrade question

650 6m6 exh manifold runners are really much smaller than the 701, and will restrict too much.

You are better to find a 61x 701 SJ, Blaster, 701 Vxr, etc type exhaust. You will still need to port match though as the port heights are different. Use the 62T exh gasket as a template.

Also your 62t 701 exh will mount with 10mm bolts. We drill the 61x 701 manifold to fit the 62t type larger bolts.

Thanks John , I was thinking about switching out just for the heck of it. I have 2 very nice VXR's and thought maybe trying to speed one up with a bigger motor. I need to get this 62T motor on the bench and check it out, might not be any good. Wonder if there is a way to crank it out if the ski? I'll have to look it over.

Just put it on a solid surface or garage floor so it doesn't move around - connect positive to starter bolt and ground neg to motor and crank away - I have some 62T exhaust parts if needed.
