    04 FXHO not charging battery

Hey - Anyone have a fix for battery not charging? New battery last year. Rode it all day with no issue. Sat for five days. Battery completely dead, no lights on dash, tested at 2.5 volts. Charged on trickle overnight, full charge. Rode all day with breaks. Went to start to head back home and nothing. Dash did light this time.

I can probably fix if it's just replacing a part with pics and instruction. Hoping to not have to bring it somewhere.

    Thanks Ben

My battery charger on my boat will not charge my batteries when they get below 5 volts. Yours may be a similar case.

In order to fix it I put the battery on a "standard" battery charger. In other words, a basic battery charger.

Now that the voltage is about 5 volts, the charger on the boat will work.

First you have to find if it's a bad battery - bad charging system - or something in ski draining battery.

A bad battery will often read 10 or 11 volts, not 2.5 - Usually takes some type of short/drain to get down to 2.5

Start by fully charging battery - Install and check volts - should be 12+ not running

Start ski and check volts while revving - Should be 13+ volts - if not 13+ charging system is bad -

If 13+ remove battery and let sit overnight - Next day check battery voltage to see if still 12+ - If less than 12 volt battery is bad

If battery stays above 12+ volt sitting in garage install in ski and let sit overnight
If battery goes below 12+ next day you have a short in ski electric system

You need to know if problem is a -b or c before you can proceed.

    Thanks for the reply.

Battery is lithium. When it was fully charged it read 13.57. After the first start, i check again and it had dropped alittle, 13.25. At the end of the day, when it wouldn't start to head home, battery read 8.25. What numbers am I looking for the lithium battery?
