    Re: New project time again!

Looks nice. I use painters tape to tape off the details so I don't ruin them when I buff. Great looking ski and nice score. I almost have mine back together. All I need is a jet pump and exhaust gasket.

I guess after just sitting for 20 years the start/stop switch could be corroded. Ill take that apart to inspect it soon. Ill have to double check my plugs as i cant remember what they look like anymore. I know they weren't black and oily though.

    Re: New project time again!

I finally got my NOS factory pump alignment tool. This 1000R is a huge B$&#@ to align. Every tiny bump and the huge, heavy engine would shift just enough to cause problems. Anyways Im going to start an in-depth thread about the tool and how to use it for future use/knowledge. I will be using my 770R as a guineapig. But now that I have done my 1000R it should go alot smoother. Also the 770R has almost twice the room to move around inside the hull. This was one of the most frustrating tasks both to research and carry out as literally no info exists on google about it. After ruining another floating bearing in the 770R and with the 1000R making noises similar to the 770R I finally had to bite the bullet and harass a part number for the tool out of the web. Found one on country cat for $200 shipped. Dont know if they will ever have anymore of these tools. I have restored 6-9 skis that needed this tool and got lucky, but now its become a necessity with my current skis.

    Re: New project time again!

I would be interested in seeing a thread about this tool. I have heard these skis are sensitive to engine alignment. It would be nice to have some info out there on them.
