I'm well aware of the weight difference. But I don't get why it's relevant here. There has never been water in my fuel tank and the weight measurement I took was before I put it in the test tank

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. The way it is written, I thought you put the water in the gas tank to weigh it. My bad.

Lining stuff up on the bottom. Gotta get all the nut-certs and threaded things glued in
for the rideplate, intake grate, pump, etc.

Plus about 10 other glued mounting points inside for various brackets and hold downs.
One last hurdle....making the top and bottom hull mate up nicely. I do have it worked out (in my head) lol

Re: PROJECT SXR / 900ace (thread redo)

All glued threads for mounting points, done...I think?

All under stuff lined up, shimmed, temporarily bolted. Pump shoe set to angle of pump and siliconed in place. Remember, I had to angle the pump down about 2* to line up with the driveline.
But I have nozzle shims to correct that.
Thank you ProWatercraft Racing for the silicone glue....left over from putting front sponsens on my other SXR. This project will get front and rear sponsens, from them, also!

Also smoothed out the hole in the tunnel where the driveshaft goes to the motor. Man, that's a big hole! As long as we are air tight, shouldn't be a problem???

Ha, forgot I did the rideplate, too.
Had to cut an oblong hole for the knuckle on the Solas pump trim system. But I think everyone has to do this for a Solas.

Always a little harry scary drilling these types of holes! Are they lined up?, Are they in the correct spot front to back?
Are the handlebars dead nuts center in the tray?
    I hope so!!

Spent most of the day getting the top and bottom halves of the hull matching up perfect. So it was nice to do the handle pole at the end.
A little more research to do. Gotta figure the best way to keep the halves water tight.

Re: PROJECT SXR / 900ace (thread redo)

Ok, so here goes the plan....
Used rubber pipe tape on upper hull to keep special epoxy from sticking to it.

Then I put temporary foam gasket around perimeter to keep epoxy from running into hull.

I put the two halves together, upside down. Clamped them in "finished position". Added epoxy to spaces between upper and lower
halves around the bondline. Epoxy will stick to lower halve, but not upper half, due to rubber tape...(I hope!)
When I split the haves tomorrow, I will remove the temporary weather stripping/foam and rubber tape, clean up any epoxy tailings, and replace with a special
    closed-cell rubber gasket.
Now, in theory, the two halves should bolt together tight and solid, for rigidity, but have a giant "o-ring type" gasket around the perimeter.
Kinda how an ADA head bolts to the top of cylinders....
