Is that galvanized electrical conduit? How are the penetrations sealed-off? Exhaust and Water leaks galore.

Yuk! This is supposed to be some kind of Exhaust Scavenging Balancing or Equalizer tube? but it obstructs the Exhaust flow and the Pistons run 60 degrees out of phase...cross-contamination

My guess was there is another bar that runs through them and has flaps on it timed with the supercharger and lol. Be interesting to hear the original owners reasoning.

I don't have pics but I am working on an XLT 1200 that someone removed the acell pump hoses on, they didn't rejet it and did not plug off the acell pump or bend the arm out of the way, so it wouldn't do anything except idle and it shot gas into hull every time you hit the throttle, they also left out the four allen bolts in the intake manifold and one of the exhaust pipe bolts holding the bracket to the rear pipe. All of the cooling hoses and the hose for greaing the midshaft were in the wrong place as well.

Ugh these are my pics from a parts machine i bought. This ski was all sorts of hacked together. -crank had some sort of weird homemade spacer/ for the outer seal.
    - Pistons were installed ising only one circlip for the wrist pin.
    - Sleeves are installed turned out of alignment.
-case had a hoke in it larger then a quarter that was patched with epoxy.

Im sure there is more im forgetting. I have the title to the ski still maybe i can track down the mad scientist that built this and ask him about his theories.

Picked this Fx1 up recently, guy told me he had repaired the pole. It was a steal so no biggie. Removed all the duct tape around the pole and found this, pretty cool huh? The tape was mostly holding it together it wiggles quite freely now.20170902_180846.jpg20170902_180900.jpg20170902_180837.jpg20170902_182905.jpg

Bought this 97 701 wr3 from a local guy a few days ago.

All 3 bolts holding the breadbox snapped off, so he wired it back on. I laughed when I saw it and commented that I had taken over 50 oem yamaha exhausts to the recycler since the 90s, and I'd have given him a breadbox for free. He said he figured parts were not available anymore, so he never even tried looking. Hmmm. Guess I should have asked if he had internet .

Anyhow, there was/is oil sludge all over inside the hull too, but that's typical of people who keep skis tied to piers and spill oil all over when refilling the injection tank. Then I took a closer look after I pulled the motor. Check out the duct tape and c-clamp over the oil check window tube. Yep, that's someone's idea of how to fix a cracked tube that couldn't have worked for more than 3 minutes. Which also explained why the the oil tank was "self leveling" to the point of the leak. I guess the siphon bilge helped to remove some of that "excess" oil .

    WHEN IN DOUBT, GAS IT!
