    Cruising on the Ct river

I'm new to the forum so I was looking to see who rides the Ct river around here. I bought my first jet ski (Seadoo RX) last winter and rode the Ct river a lot last summer. At the end of the summer, some guys showed us some cool inlets and I am looking to see who can point me to other hidden spots on the river.

We launch out of Cromwell but basically travel either upriver or down.

Thanks in advance for any tips you are willing to share.

Check out seldons creek. It's off of the ct river in the deep river/ Lyme area. Seldons island has campsitess/beaches and the creek has a huge cliff to jump off of. The area is hoping on the weekends. Stand ups and sit downs too.

Up the mattabasset is great. You just need to know where you are going so you don't run aground.

We went up the mattabasset yesterday for the first time. It was a little nerve wracking so we went slow (basically idled) and try to note where all the stick sticking out of the water were. Neither one of us had a dept finder but it appeared that if we stayed in the middle we seemed fine but we did see a lot of weeds. We also did not know how far in we could go. We saw some fisherman who said there was 6 ft of water but we did not confirm it. I probably should have stuck my paddle in to check . Also these guys said we could go all the way to Walmart (wherever that is). Is that true? Any pointers come to mind?
    Thanks for any feedback-Mark

So I looked at the map and wonder if its navigable from both ends? Any detail tips you can share.

    Thanks - Mark

It curves and goes behind lowes. We used to be able to get there. Just before the 91 bridges. Haven done it in a few years buts if definitely doable.
