Video looks good and the ski roars/ snarls like it should. Great job man. Post up some GPS speed info if you can.

Hello TheVetteman3. I have not had a chance to measure speed yet. I believe that in about twenty days I go back to walk on it, hence I will record more videos and measure. It is with original propeller KAWA SOLE X PROPS 16/23 - KF-SC-X. I accelerated along with a seadoo xp 800, I left behind.

Re: 650 sx triple 900 adaptation

Guys, I have a kawasaki zxi 900 motor, and I'm thinking of turning it into 1100, since it needs rectifying. buying cylinder, connecting rods, pistoes and doing work in the chambers, is this transformation possible? Are the 900 and 100 motor housings the same?

Re: 650 sx triple 900 adaptation

Hello theVetteman3, I need an opinion about compression of the zxi 900 year 1995 engine. I decided to make my engine, I bought an original kawasaki 900 cylinder in the grease, and I bought pro-x pistols with Teikoku rings. I mounted the engine, when running the compression test gave 75 PSI, I found it very low, is it normal being factory standard pistons and cylinder? engine has not yet spun in the water.compress 900zxi carlos.jpegcompress 900zxi carlos.jpegpro x carlos.jpeganesis carlos.jpeg

Your cylinders are even at least, did you measure your ring gap before assembly?
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Have you used that gauge on other engines with proper compression? Some gauges can be off by as much as 60psi.

Rider, cylinder, cylinder was purchased original kawasaki has never been used and this standard. There was no slack since everything was bought new, complete cranks, bearings, pistoes. I did not say no, because it was an original factory cylinder, I trusted it.

Re: 650 sx triple 900 adaptation

I used this same gauge on this engine before disassembling it, and incredible 80 psi seems incredible. Now with everything new the compression got lower. I have not walked the engine yet, is there a possibility of compression increase by ring-laying?

Re: 650 sx triple 900 adaptation

I believe a good or normal operating range for these engines is 120 psi +/- 10 psi.

The original engine was 80 psi? Have you used this cylinder head before? Are you using any base gaskets?

Such a large difference I have personally only seen from wrong domes/ head (ccs too large), using gaskets which are too thick, or a bad gauge. I would test with another gauge if possible just to rule that out.
