Yes, you need to fill up that part of the dome.

I know that, not sure if they actually use a spark plug or just a straight plug to get there cc number. I use a spark plug I just way them to be the same as what is being made now.

I'm not sure how they do it, but if you have a known quantity head, you can use a sparkplug and see how it measures up to said dome c.c.

Please let us know what you find out.

(oh, and Chris Newmiller, Mcn6 here, would be able to help you out with this question.)

    Re: CC ing domes

Hey wazzy. The volume difference of an intact spark plug and a similar solid plug is fairly insignificant at about .2cc. From what I can tell most AM manufacturers as well as the OEM's do not include the additional .2cc of volume.

on edit: It doesn't look like Bill O. has posted in a while? I hope he is doing well, anybody know what's up??

    Re: CC ing domes

The volume of the hole where you screw the spark into is 2.2cc for a long reach plug and 1.5cc for a short reach plug. That being said, if you are just plugging the spark plug hole with tape you should probably be subtracting that volume...
