Haven't been on here much but figured I'd give an update. Most of the ski has been painted for a while but had to repaint the hood and I just picked it up from my friends paint booth yesterday. Sent my seat to Jet Trim to have the seat shaved and covered and had them make some traction mats for it too. Super happy with the work from Jet Trim. Pieced everything together to see how it looked and it is exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to see the IPD Graphics on it for the final touch. The triple kawi cylinders were bored by JetManiac and I still need to send in my crank to him for that to be exchanged before reassembling the engine. Anyways, here's some pics of where it stands for now. Come a long ways from when I brought it home!

That's awesome! I thought I saw you post a pic of it on FB. Super nice. Will be cool to escape the TX heat during the races.

Nice work Ricky! You're a good wrench.

              Very cool exhaust tone.

Just a comment on top speed: 60mph+ is about as much as you'll get out of the Blaster due to its hull design.

It's almost a displacement hull as opposed to a planing hull. Most sit-downs plane on the ride plate at WOT for minimal wet area and thus, minimal drag.

Blaster plows thru the water with a larger wetted area, and the drag force grows bigger the faster it goes, till it reaches terminal velocity, that is Drag Force = Forward Thrust

But that is what makes the Blaster such a blast to ride.

You could sand the bottom, front to back, to reduce the water drag...

Set it up for aggressive acceleration and predictable handling, like McQueen's...

Re: Kawi 1100 B1 Build (pic heavy)

Thanks JC, that is what I'm shooting for.... aggressive acceleration & good handling. Got some prowatercraft front sponsons on the way and just got most of the parts in. The crank, hull extensions, IPD Graphics and prowatercraft sponsons are on the way. Once I get the crank in, it shouldn't be too long before I have it back on the water. Cylinders went from 80mm to 82mm so it will be an 1125cc now and I got the 82mm domes to match. Using the 12v solas pump & jet dynamics intake grate

Ricky, for reliability replace those pretty see-thru water hoses with heavy duty Synflex hose and use stainless steel hose clamps.

That will ensure you don't get stranded after the first race lap or gator jumping in the Bayou...

Can't wait to ride it at Victory Lake.

JD intake makes a huge difference.

I'm not sure when but I'm hoping to head out there by Mid march. Saw your post on the JD grates btw. Good to know! I went and checked out which one I got sent and luckily it was the #60 which is what I needed.

Did a little work over the weekend. Got the left hull extension on but will need to do some trimming to the right hull extension for it to fit around the exhaust. Removed the driveshaft from the old pump and built the new 12v Solas pump with new bearings/seals & packed with marine grease. Managed to work out a deal with a friend on a protec nozzle with trim & steering nozzle. Should help out on the holeshot! I'll attach a vid of it working and you can adjust the angle of the nozzle too. I removed the siphon fitting on the nozzle and plugged it since I don't have a stock bilge. Was planning to powdercoat and also get the nozzle bored out so that tube would've been in the way anyways. Used a couple of spacers to get the impeller spaced close but with clearance from the stator veins.

Couple of pics of my boys playing on it. The older one wants to play on it every time he see's it and makes fake "vroom" noises while sqeezing the throttle lever. Just waiting for that one day that I hear the ski startup in the garage banging the rev limiter! Also attached another vid of my oldest one learning how to use the impact drill on the old blown engine. He'll be 2 in a couple of weeks

Trued & welded crank came in from JetManiac and I got the engine 90% built yesterday afternoon. Just need to install the head water fittings, torque the head, put in starter, flywheel and stator cover. Should be able to go through carbs and make sure all is clean this weekend and drop engine in.
