And dude, maybe wear something more protective than sandals when using abrasives and cutting tools. It would suck to not be able to ride because you severed your little piggies, or a ski fell on them.

Re: 89 Kawi X2 first build

Haha ya, it is a bit of work for my first ski and not entirely knowing what I am doing, but I know what I want and starting with a bare hull I just figured I'd go for it. I am gonna go pull the motor from the donor today and try to see if it's a big pin or a small pin.

As for the sandals, nobody ever said we were the brightest haha but on a more serious note you are correct. Alex is the stubborn sandal culprit, I am not as stubborn when it comes to safety but I should probably be wearing a respirator when sanding

Instead of rear exhaust I did a full 2" system, relocating the through hull fitting as a straight shot out of the waterbox. It does maximise performance, but the exhaust is "in your face", just like the original Jet Skis.

Count the bolts on the intake manifold. I think 10 is small pin, 12 is big pin.

And the I don't think the small pin ever came in the green/teal color.

Re: 89 Kawi X2 first build

Sorry for the long absence. Atv put me in the hospital for a little bit and haven't really been wanting to do anything lately. But now I am back and ready to make some progress. I did get that motor pulled and it is a small pin. Oh well, it'll work for now. I am out of town for work right now but when I get home I want to start pouring foam and laying glass. I believe I read on someone else's build to use 4lb foam but I have no clue what glass or resin to order. I will be ordering everything from us composites, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What's wrong with a small pin. I'd take that any day over a BP in an X2. These things are sketchy as hell at high speed. I'll take the low end brap for wake jumping any day.

Honestly nothing, I was just hoping for a big pin.

Also, I am needing a carburetor and exhaust. For exhaust I was thinking Coffman or factory, I plan on using the rad dudes waterbox and 2" tip, I've decided against the rear exhaust. As for the carburetor I have no clue. What would be my best option?
