    Re: BUYER BEWARE Parkersxr

Guys, I don't want to start a pissing war here. I just wanted to point out that a member here has demonstrated some shady tactics and has stolen from not only myself, but at least one more person as well.

I made a mistske and learned my lesson about paypal protections.

=Maulin Marto;4372146]The fees they charge for a simple transaction are way out of line.
HUH? It is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive. For example, if you are sent $100.00 USD by credit card, the fee would be $3.20 USD ($2.90 + $0.30).

Seems pretty low for the convenience of being able to pay and accept debit, credit, and bank account balance funds. Just credit card interchange fees are between 1.6% and 2.6% and that's for credit cards only, not bank account balances. That doesn't account for all the other fees CC companies charge merchants either which quickly add up. Part of that fee we pay also is insurance against scammers or items that aren't quite as described which paypal intervenes in and helps to recover your money if it comes to that.

But by all means, if this is too expensive for you, then go back to money orders and cashier's checks, which also have a fee associated with them and cost of a stamp, envelope, etc. Doing business isn't cheap, but it all comes down to what is more important to you. Personally, I'll pay the fee for the service they provide because it's the right thing to do and part of the contract I agreed to when I signed up for paypal.

Sorry, this is a big pet peeve of mine.

I've gotten scammed before through paypal and it sucks, but if you don't like the service, dont use it. It's really that simple. There are alternatives.

I've earned the right to preach. I've used paypal since the day it came out (or very shortly thereafter) and have been buying and selling on Ebay since the mid/late 90s. I like the service, despite it's issues, but its still the best thing we have and so I'll continue to use it and abide by their rules.

Are you here to help, or give an ethics lesson?!? If it's the latter, shut the hell up and check the hell out of this thread.

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am not a big man.
