    Another fx1 cavitation issue.

Had stock fx1 with Solas 17/23 prop. We ride a river with really shallow water and small river rock, lots of times end up rocking out your pump. Recently I got ahold of a B pipe and it worked great! Got it pretty much fine tuned. I knew the last time I rode I had sucked a lot of small rocks so I decided to swap to another stock pump I have. I swapped everything my new pump has vanes in much better shape and also the impeller is in better shape. Same pitch 17/23 How ever I did not switch out my wear ring section of the pump, it had a few small scratches not gouges! Put it all together with lots of scillicone and went and rode tonight and I have the worst cavitation ever!! Out of the hole it is great but anything over half throttle the motor goes straight to the rev limiter. It rides good as long as I ease into it, but if you stab he throttle at all its right to the dinger. Do I need to get s bigger pitch on my prop? Also what is the clearance on my prop to wear ring? Thanks in advance!

This may sound dumb but check your motor mounts. My superjet would do the same thing turns out it was the top right motormount

If you have a stock rev limiter and a b-pipe, that will happen.

Stock FX1 pump is only good to 75/80 hp. Especially off the bottom end hit. Its nothing you can do
to fix this other than a pump conversion.

    Shouldnt be that bad.

If you have a pipe you HAVE TO HAVE a higher rev limiter.

I put a MSD Enhancer in my FX1, best bang for your buck there. Waaaay better timing curve.

Other than that, i spent too much time trying to make my pump better on the low end, cant happen. This pump was made for racing, smaller pump better jet power on the top end. After 3 years of ridding the 122 and trying cones, nozzles, impellers, i swapped into the 144, money and time well spend! Hooks well and i can ride through white wash no problem

Do the very easy 140mm pump. A little glass work the rest bolts in. Can't tell any different compared to a 144 thats
takes much more work, I've ran both.

The msd fixed my issues! No more on the rev limiter anymore. I left it set at 8000rpm the only time it hits the dinger now is when the pump is out of the water! I still need to take more water out of the pipe I'm not quite sizzling water but it is hot to the touch.
