Use the intake manifold as a jig to assemble the carb rack.

Bolt the carbs to the manifold with the stock flame arrestor base. Do not torque the
carb bolts down. The carbs need to be able to move a bit when you tighten the machine
    screws for the horizontal braces.

Then install the upper and lower horizontal braces.

    Carb
Use a straight edge (possibly a feeler gauge) along the gasket surface, and then
a perpendicular ruler (or just use a depth gauge) to measure the level height.

I don't think I would run 5% Penzoil, just because everyone would laugh at me
Even from the other side of the lake. Is Yamalube 2R available?

You look like you have the tools. You might be surprised how bad the intake manifold's
    reed gasket surface is. BM.

Glad I kept that stock FA base!!

Say no more about the manifold. Its coming out!

Wth is wrong with Penzoil??! Hey its free... I got free access to this one too:

Most people think of these mixtures as oil rich, but it is also a way to lean out gasoline.
Less fuel is passing through the jets.

I used to use this method a long time ago with my Honda ATC250. I leaned the jetting
1 main jet size, and when I rode at low altitudes I would run 40:1 to 50:1. But when I
would ride in the mountains I just mixed my oil mixture richer, instead of rejetting my
    carb.

BTW, do you ride your ski above 600 meters? and what is the temperature?

Re: Keihin CDK 2 - Reverse Jetting?

Nop, I usualy ride at sea level basicly and the average outside temp is 17 - 20 C while water ranges from 13 winter to 25 summet

So you think it is worth to remove the existing 10 liters of Penzoil and use only Wolf 2T?

The fuel / oil mix and the leaner condition doesnt make much sense...? In a 20 liters tank, the difference between 2% and 5% oil ratio is around 600 ml of oil --> less 600 ml of fuel in 20 liters... How can this be significant? Am I missing something?

It could be 400 liters ~< 100 gallons, all that maters is what is flowing through the jets.

It isn't significant at all, it is just a tweak (pinch). It is worth about 1 jet size,
and most jet sizes are approximately .001" or ~.025mm. Your jetting is too rich
on the low jet, so the sum of low jet + main jet is too high.

Some of the jetting will be compensated by the screw settings and your carb
work, but the oil mixture is just an additional tweak. Even if you decide not to run
5%, I would like to see you run a synthetic oil.

No need to worry about oil right now. But if the engine is still running rich, you
could add some more oil and it might help.

    Gotcha!

Found a set of 135 main jets on my parts bin, should I use those instead of the 140s?

Re: Keihin CDK 2 - Reverse Jetting?

No, the real problem is the 80 low jets.

If you install the 135 mains, the problems in the low rpm range caused by
the 80 low jets will still exist.

NOTE: First, Test ride the X2 setup as we have discussed, then in the future
learn the idle drop test to further your tuning skills.

Do you have a trailer for your X2?

You need to learn how to do the idle drop test I detailed in my blog. You
need to determine if the engine will idle with the low speed (pilot) screws
closed (that will confirm the low jet problem). It will take a long, thin screw
driver, or an old (modified) 90' screw driver for adjusting points on a car.

If you have a machine shop available to you, might be able to make some
caps for the low speed (pilot) screws that allow you to adjust your fuel
screws. You could just glue them on with JB weld, or CA with kicker (rc model
    airplane glue).

    BM.

I want you to learn how to (or improve) your power tuning skills, but not
before we have been to the lake with the current instructions. BM.
