    Service supercharger warning

I have 2011 rxtx with 95 hours. I had it services oil change at dealer this spring and asked about the interval. I was told 150 hours and that I could wait for the season before servicing. Riding yesterday the orange wrench kites up and a message says service super charger and then goes out. Boat has 95 hours.

Is this a time message or is the boat detecting a problem?

It's booked in for the service just curious ?

whoever told you 150 is not the person to be getting advice from 100hrs! the internal ****s are a bit off you plug into them and the service counter and total hour counter can be quite different. the general thought is its key on time versus running time but either way 100 hrs is as far as you should go.
currently riding sxr or what ever has gas in it!!

    Re: Service supercharger warning

This is the answer I got from SeaDoo when I emailed them this question.

I just bought a leftover 2011 RXT-260. One of the questions that came up was "Since the 2012 supercharger rebuild time has been increased from 100 to 200 hours is there any plan to make that retroactive to 2011 or earlier. The salesman didn't know but we went to the parts department and confirmed that the supercharger and rebuild kit have the same part numbers for 2011 and 2012 so they should have the same rebuild time frame. Next a trip to the service department. The service manager said you still need to do the rebuild at 100 hours on the 2011 but after the first rebuild, it would be 200 hours for each rebuild thereafter. I'm was still not convinced they were sure of what they were telling me.

I contacted BRP and here is the response.

    Thank you for contacting BRP.

In response to your request, we recently revised the recommended maintenance on the 2011-2012
Sea-Doo supercharger. The new requirement is now 200 hours, irrespective of the number of years.

    Thank you for your time.

It does look like the dealer sales and service departments are a little out of the loop or they were just trying to line up a $1,000 service visit. If you have a supercharged 2011 approaching 100 you may have just gotten a 100 hour reprieve. I would verify it with your local dealer to make sure you don't get stuck with any warranty issues. Hopefully they will put out an ECU update to increase the maintenance interval.

This is an other SEADOO announcement. REVISED SUPERCHARGER SERVICE INTERVAL(2011 AND 2012MODELS)
Due to the improved durability of the molybdenumcoated friction washer introduced in 2011,the maintenance interval has now been increasedto 200 hours, irrespective of the number of years. If a message displayed in the multifunction gaugeregarding the supercharger maintenance, pleasedisregard it.If a supercharger repair kit containing a molybdenumcoated friction washer was used to servicea watercraft prior to model-year 2011, the supercharger
can be serviced at every 200 hours thereafter

My 2011 RXT260 has 174 hours on it and is still running great. I will pull the supercharger after the season for a first rebuild.

Ricketts, What did you end up hearing from your dealer?
