I remember asking why we couldn't run with sport class, same race but different scoring and I was told the 800's are WAY too big to race with sport. But coo when we line up with the 4strokes.

Safety should always be #1 for many reasons. I hope Ross will reconsider his decision between these 2 classes. You can't prevent all accidents, but at the end of the day running these separately you know you did a positive thing and not because you wanted to save time over safety. And their kids will appreciate that mommy or daddy can go back to the reality of life on Monday instead of laid up helpless with a broken leg. Nothing personal Ross, still love what you're doing for racing.

Re: Blaster Open Vs. Sport GP

IMO, 800 runabouts have no business on the track with 4 bangers other than the Spark. It's a simple matter of mass. And 800 runabout is in the 450lbs range, fueled and ready to rock. A small 4 stroke is a solid 2-500lbs more. Plus, just to be honest, we aren't talking about pro level riders racing 4 strokes verses the 800s. One of the biggest problems with the 4 strokes is, just because a rider can afford to buy/build one, doesn't necessarily mean they are a good enough rider to truly, safely ride one. I don't mean that as a knock on anyone, but there have been many times at the races where I saw riders who just weren't ready to race, out on the course and d@mn near run over someone.

So is the issue between Blasters and HX's an advantage or safety factor? If it's advantage related then why not run the classes together but score separate....? Let's fill the line up

The HX is definitely a better race boat over the Blaster. Advantage? Yes, but for the Blaster racers, they accept to be the underdog and train harder if they want to beat the HX racers. It is not impossible as Tommy Bonacci 'The Bomber" has shown. Most Blaster riders will not switch over to the HX anyways.

Greater advantages in GP with the HX. But again, when you're the underdog and beats an HX in GP.... you're one freakin' animal.

Don't get bent out of shape HX racers, hands down a Blaster takes more work (physically) to win.
