Question 97 seadoo xp with awasaki 1100 is that a possible engine swap?

I have been thinking about my next winters project and i want more power but i also want to keep the xp hull. Would it be possible to do a engine swap to a 1100?

all you need is to set the engine in the hull then make it work !

Possble - yes. Easy - no, lol

I have a 98 hull that i have somewhat started this conversion. It got sidetracked because i got a watoosee carbon xpl to play with. In order to do the conversion, you will need to cut out the inner liner in front of the gas tank, including the bosses for the oil tank and ebox. You will need to glass in mounts or stringers. You will need a mid driveshaft converted to use wth the kawi coupler. On the 97 hull, the exhaust goes down the left hand side of the hull, so you wont have to cut for that, one plus. After that is all done, you will need to either use kawi switches or try to wire up the Doo stuff to the kawi ebox. Keep in mind, none of your guages - rpm, trim or fuel - will work wih this conversion. You will also have to figure out if you want to try to hardwire he trim or rig it for drop trim by lever.

Having said all this, the ski would be pretty awesome. The 1100 motor is really nice when sey up right. Where are you located?

I would worry about the weight of the triple, as that hull is already nose heavy to start with. I know the 1100 triple is a great powerplant, and would love to put one in an x4, but it would be easier just to buy a nicely set up xp limited.

The kawi triple is nearly identical in weight to the 951 motor, FYI.

Im up in new england and i like my xp hull but the 787 just isnt cutting it for my performence likes. Instead of spending alot of money on boaring it out and doing performence upgrades that wont gain me to much hp i was toying with the idea of putting a bigger better engine inmy ski so i can atleast hit between 60 and 70mph.

Im up in new england and i have bought a seadoo xp got it running nice but the power and speed isnt there on this ski. Instead of putting tons of money into yhe engine for just 10 more hp i was toying with the idea that maybe if i found an engine that is light but powerful i wanted to see what it would take to do this engine swap. Keep in mind that this would be my first engine swap on a jetski so i would be going into this with out any exspirience with working wiyh the fiber glass hull and mounting the engine. I love engines and they are my life so any tips or knowledge that can be given would highly be appreciated
