If it runs great, I wouldn't look to change too much. But, yes, Factory Pipe often recommended using the smallest needle and seat possible. From our experience that puts motors right on the edge of being too lean. We typically use larger needle and seats for everything that has an aftermarket set of flame arresters or more.

The only place we saw an advantage with ECWI on the 951 twin pipes was by adding water to the stingers at max rpms. So a fixed jet to the stingers at idle, low, and mid rpms. Like say 130 main jet in each stinger. Then, use another waterline in to each stinger with a much larger jet (say a 200 main jet) that only turns on (open) at around 200 rpms below your max. The way you do this is with a water controller connected to 2 solenoids (1 per stinger) that turns ON and stays ON from that rpm and up. And you use a T or a Y and install the appropriate jets in there before the water gets to the stinger fittings. So the smaller jets are always flowing water and the large jets get opened up and also flow water at the peak of the power band.

Less water in the stingers means more bottom and mid-range power. More water to the stingers right before and at max rpms means more peak horsepower.

Absolutely more water in the pipe stinger(s) can cause detonation! But most things that help increase horsepower will cause problems if you go too far. I don't have a max size I can tell you. Too many variables to know what your combination will work with safely. Always make small adjustments and pull the RAVEs out to look at the tops of the pistons if you are worried about detonation.
