Saw this and had to post.. hopefully you figured this out. Solas and Skat pitches are not comparible! Different proprietary root angles and such even if the blades are labeled as the same angle. In my experience Solas feel much lower for their pitch than an equivalent Skat.

I was running a 13/18 small hub skat swirl in my 800 superstock xir. I would turn about 7500 rpm and got to 53.7 with a cold pipe. And boy did it get there quick!

I will check in later posts to see how you're coming with your impeller selection. Fun build! I am never selling my xir!

    Re: The 750ss build.

I had good luck with a 10/18 skat on my 95ss back in the day. I had a lot of goodies on it, It was a lot of fun for years until I rode a X4 Seadoo 800, I never looked back!!

    Re: The 750ss build.

Yea 10/18 skat sounds about right given light mods on a 750 or a more heavily modified 650. I mean the xir came stock with a 9/17 skat and it would do 47.

I had a mint 95 xp. That was a fun ski, I regret not having it out with my xir. Some day I want to try a more race prepped one to see how it compares to the xir. Overall the xir is a more serious race handling ski stock for stock. Less playful. I'm sure the ss hull is even more playful!

Frank was that 95xp a 717 or 787? My 97spx has everything but porting and it runs 65mph at 7550rpms.

    Re: The 750ss build.

Sorry, Ive been busy and kinda forgot about this thread.

    Thanks for the information!!

I just started working on it again to try and figure out my issue before summer comes. Engine is in pieces, Its down to the flywheel and cdi as far as the cause goes. Moving in about 2 months so I may not be able to get it going till summer. It will be together tho.

    Thanks!

    Re: The 750ss build.

Well It turns out My flywheel is designed for the later SXR electronics and will not work with the early electronics/750. Ended up ordering an advent Ignition and it solved everything! Arts carb specs out of the box are awesome! I have yet to really mess with tuning, I think its a tad rich but it runs great. I took it out yesterday to seat the rings. Put a few gallons through it. Still on the 13/18 solas, from a dead stop to WOT, It bounces off the limiter 3 times and GOES. It pulls harder than I expected! It gets a tad sketchy at times if you hit a wave wrong under WOT, it tries to slide out and throw you off lol. Good fun tho. Exactly what I was going for as far as power goes. Once its broken in and tuned Ill start playing with impellers.

I did pick up a tbm billet driveshaft bearing support and came across a umi steering setup I picked up from a member here. Have yet to install them, but its in the plans!

    Re: The 750ss build.

I ended up picking up a new solas 14/19 ke-sc-i. put my RPM right at 7000 wide open. so far, my best is 52.61@7050RPM on chop. I need to be closer to 7200 according to Art so thats my goal. my 13/18 is a ke-sc-a which is slightly damaged and an old version. they have a new updated version ke-sc-s that I plan to keep an eye out for, I think its the key. not looking to buy one this summer, Ill probably just play with the wet wolf if I can find it. if the 13/18 fails, ill get a repitch. as it sits, from a dead stop it now just hooks and goes!

I also modified my scoop and pump shoe so it actually fits correctly. it took a lot of jb weld.. and a lot more grinding.. but it fits! and holy hell what a difference! it rides great!! not sketchy at all now! I did that the same time as the 14/19. I MIGHT swap the 13/8 back in to compare the difference. I also didnt seal the ride plate or scoop grate up so I might have a tad more speed in that too.. and trim.. have yet to finish that too..

the white on the pump shoe is JB weld lol. hope it holds up.. I cant weld aluminum yet..

It is definitely a blast to ride! hoping to get some gopro footage soon

    Re: The 750ss build.

finally got around to building my trim setup. Inspired by the seadoo HX and no wanting to drill a hole in this hull.

    up all the way

    all the way down

    center

since I was at it, I thought I would post my steering angle for my modified steering. ill get a picture of how I did that at some point..

ignore the ugly nozzle, I do have a mint one ill toss on someday, but it would have to be modified again to get this angle. (steering pole and nozzle were modified)
