    The 750ss build.

My first jetski was a 93 750ss with a 650 in it. Not the best shape, but it ran and it was fun. Honestly I think it was more fun than my friends RXP, he even thought so. Ended up putting a hole in the hull somehow when I came across a member selling a bare 96ss hull halfway through my repair. The plan was to swap everything over to the 96 hull that winter. 3 years later due to the 650 needing a crank im finally doing it, and doing it right. So many people hate these hulls, I guess Ive always had a thing for the "underdog" vehicles, and spending too much time and money to make them scream. In the end, its all worth it to me.

lots of stuff Im swapping over from my old 93, but the rest of it I had to piece together as far as the engine goes.

    The build:
    -96 Kawasaki 750ss (full refinish)
    -750bp case ported by jetworks
    -hot rods crank
-800sxr cylinders ported and bored by jetworks
    -800sxr intake ported by jetworks
    -800sxr carbs BlackJack mod
    -Vforce3 reeds
    -Tau Ceti tornado flame arrestors
    -big pin Ebox (8000rpm limiter)
-billet Ebox fittings (from a member)
    -ADA girdle head (180psi)
-coffman rocket pipe exhaust and waterbox
    -jetworks bypass valve
    -TBM lightweight charging flywheel
    -jetski solutions rebuilt stator
    -ADA water bypass nozzels
    -Jet dynamics scoop grate
    -jet dynamics ride plate
    -DG quadrafin ride plate
    -R&D ride plate
    -mariner ride plate
    -ADA billet bow eyes (black)
    -ADA billet gas filler (black)
-ZXI gas cap (wanted a black one)
-modified steering (turns a LOT sharper, uses every MM of the cable now)
-solas abc series 13/18 impeller (will be too small I think)
    -ADA billet couplers
-wetwolf AAT (may or may not use it)
-ultra 150 rubber bumper trim (again, its black!)
    -custom made vinyl
    -awlgrip paint
    -PET 2100DX tach

I THINK thats everything.. going off memory. Ive been working on it now for about 4 months, Engine is at jetworks and the hull is almost finished up. My goal is 55+mph. Somewhat mild porting, Its a recreational ski, thats why I just went with the sxr carbs. Fuel consumption is important to me! from what I hear, anything over 50mph on the SS hull is a bit sketchy, thats why I have so many ride plates to try out.

my computer Is having issues and isnt letting me post pics! I guess Ill be posting those this weekend...

    Re: The 750ss build.

My first sitdown was a 95 750ss and it was a limited mod with a Factory Pipe. That thing was a lot of fun in the waves. It suited me perfect until I rode a 96 Seadoo XP! That was all she wrote! The hull is fun but lacks the power to weight ratio like the Seadoo, now with all the engine mods your doing it should be a rocket!

    Sub'd

PS get rid of the 97xp and get a X4 787 ski, you'll thank me later. I owned a 97xp and all that damn thing did was load up with water jumping waves and also if you wave jump the ski will develop stress cracks in the gun wells where your feet go.

I concur on needing more impeller. A stock BP pitch is 13/18. With that setup you should have a nice plump powerband. But it's better to start under-propped and work up.

I know what you mean about lack of power. My old 650 was modded enough to keep up with a stock 750ssxi, 47mph on gps. I REALLY wanna stop playing catchup with my friends 750sl and 780slx polaris.. we shall see tho!

I have yet to ride my seadoo, needs an engine and a key. I was thinking about just selling it and getting a getting a kawi for the girlfriend. Or a 951 DI version. Not a fan of the front engine, or ballance shafts. I like simple! But I know its a better and more advanced design. Good to know about jumping it. Ill keep it in mind!

With my 650, on the same impeller I was spinning 6700rpm @47mph. Ill call impros once I get a base RPM to go off. Shooting for 7200-7400rpm. Any guesses on an impeller? Or what rpm ill be at? Im going to have to modify my pump to accept the intake wedge (dont know the real name). The 93 had it built into the hull, its a seperate piece on the 96 that bolts to the pump. Worst case I guess ill find a used pump. Someday I want a solas or skat pump. Way way over my budget to get one right now.

    Re: The 750ss build.

My 95ss went 47mph with the mods I had. I was running a skat 10/18. The carb was a stocker just Rejetted with prok air filter and a r&d head. That ski was bullet proof the whole time I had it!!

Right on! So how would a 10/18 compare to a 13/18? 10/18 would need more power to spin it and better hookup?

I don't know what the diff would be between the two props to be honest.

    Re: The 750ss build.

I just remember I had Team Butch put that 10/18 on the ski and that R&D head and it was night and day diff over stock with just those 2 parts.

    Re: The 750ss build.

    Fair enough.

I never had the chance to try the stock impeller, I did try the ssxi 5 blade. That was night and day! The little 650 had a very hard time spinning it lol. Had to be an easy 10mph loss

    Re: The 750ss build.

This will be a cool build!

I'm surprised at the 47mph with a 650 and 13/18 in there!? Was this GPS'd? or the stock speedo?

What all was done to the 650?
