Re: Annual Blue Marsh April "FOOLS" Ride 2016 - Reading, PA

should definitely plan days over the summer too. As I am getting the "are you crazy???" speech. Hopefully the 2/3mm will be enough. If it keeps up with the warming it may be plenty... 68 next week!!

yea that's usually my response... or i just go with the, "maybe you're crazy for not going too" response. I've been looking at pictures of the lake, it looks like people were beaching vessels on the beach area, is this or was this allowed? And does anyone know if dogs are allowed?

Dogs are allowed at the Dry Brooks Dock and there are signs for no pets at the State Hill Dock but people are always walking their dogs there and I'm bringing my dog, Bundookie

I would not advise beaching at the Dry Brooks boat launch as it is rocky. The water is shallow enough to drop an anchor 5-10 feet in.

April 2 everyone should be at the State Hill.

During the summer, I'm usually at the Dry Brooks Dock on Sunday - and it is pretty Rocky

What about the main sandy beach? I've even seen Google map pictures where boats and or skis look pretty close to the beach... Can't wait for the 2nd

We all use stands at dry brooks side when beaching the skis. I'm not sure if it's "allowed" but yes there are boats and skis pulled up on the outskirts of the beach area all the time. The main sandy part is all a designated swim area though and very crowded on summer weekends. May be able to get away with it early in the season but im sure the "water fuzz" would frown upon it

Gotya. Maybe I'll have to invest in a stand if the lake is worth the drive for weekends. The river where I go is shallow enough I just use a small anchor and rope. Always looking for more regular worthy spots
