Well now that she is perfect I am ready to make room for the next project. (Electric shifter kart) How much do you think these things are worth with paperwork and a bunch of new parts?

It depends on who is looking for one. A friend of mine picked up a 1987 new in the crate several years ago for $250! He should have paid 3 times that. I am hoping the vintage watercraft wave comes along, like cars & snowmobiles, to really bring back some interest in these old skis & some value also. If you don't have a lot stuck into it, keep it, great conversation at a lake. I have a newer 4 stroke Kawasaki, its extremely stable & will do 65+ on GPS, but nobody gives it a second look at the lake, me & my buddy take our Wetjets & it takes time to actually get out on the water, cause we have to answer a lot of questions about them, & most people have never seen one, kinda like a DeLorean.

Video of the wetjet in action. She runs pretty damn well. Video is real time and not sped up.

NO! That's a great video, even the Will Smith is time appropriate, had my Wetjet out yesterday for a bit, takes me back to a better time.

Re: 1988 wetjet barn find build thread. back to showroom condition

dont mean to revive an old thread (well i do) but would love some assistanve along the way with my project.. think its a 88.. red and white decals, brut engine. Need to replace all the fuel lines etc the two parts on top of the tank inline with the fuel lines are they filters? should i have one way valves in the system at all?

    many thanks

If its red & white with a BRUT engine it's an 89 or newer. Yes there are 2 fuel filters in the lines ontop of the tank, replace them when you replace the lines. Originally one way valves were attached to the fuel lines inside the tank, there was a bulletin issued in 1991 to removed them because people didn't turn off the fuel valve when not in use & on a hot day pressure built up in the tank flooding the engine with fuel, with the one way valves removed about 2 feet of the fuel line after the pickup would drain back into the tank reducing this issue, the only drawback is that all the fuel can siphon back into the tank making it harder to start, usually only when the engine was cold.

Thank you very much RLHDWEPWCGUY , your advice and info is much appreciated. With everything being imperial it makes it fun for me over the pond. None of my tools fit hahha i managed to get a 6mm id fuel hose onto the fittings on the tank so i shall run with that size (stock kwak/yam diameter) ordered some new filters.

hope to start her up next week
