kawasaki flat top pistons in seadoo 787

i am just wondering if anyone could chime in on kawasaki pistons in the seadoo 787 engine. I am trying to figure out the best of the pistons to use.
I am aware that the head is different.

If anyone could chime in and guide me in the correct path way.

    thanks again

Probably not important, but when I changed from stock dykes rings
to thin keystone rings I lost 10 psi. I don't know about the thick WSM
        rings.
Horsepower == Speed, RPM != Speed

I use Wiseco kawasaki flat top pistons, and billet rossier head with flat domes in both my race boats. You will have to deck clyinders to get your squish right, ( 50-55 thousands ) if you dont the squish will be around 225-250 thousands. Rick Nolan

flat top pistons produced better torque than a dome piston. And it is also something different to try.
The fastest boat in my 800 open division is a 787 with kawi flat top pistons and it destroys everyone. And it is not just the rider

Re: kawasaki flat top pistons in seadoo 787

flat top power depends on the porting, a lot to do with roof angle and direction. kawi flat tops are 2 deg, the only true 0 degree flat tops i know of are riva dominator flat tops. they are around 200 a piece from wiseco.

go read waxhead's 1100 blaster build he goes over all of this. or google flat top pistons pwctoday or flat top piston greenhulk

If I decked the cylinders according to your numbers there would be no going back with those cylinders so it's an all in thing. I'd have to see a doo run with that setup before I could commit. Seems a lot of port work would have to be done. Those piston must be out of something with a shorter stroke and usually a mod to increase in one part of the power band results in a decrease in the other, I could see how more torque in a closed course race ski could be desirable but not sure I would chance losing rpm and top speed that's also used to do rides like Havasu to Topoc and farther. Who knows, I may have a KawaDooki next year. {;o) Lee

Lee, you're asking the wrong pwc question! It's more like.... WHY NOT? hahah. Crazy fleabrained ideas sometimes make good results such as the Tpe engines. Although he used other two stroke engine designs
