Re: '90 Jetmate tunnel removal and hull overhaul

Pump stuffer and big hub impeller will fix the hole shot. Port it when your in there for best results.

Re: '90 Jetmate tunnel removal and hull overhaul

I have a PJS intake and was wondering about the impeller. I have the 9/15 Hooker and wonder if is meant to be a good solution with a wet cored 750 Jetmate.

Performance side of these is not my strong suit yet.

What big hub impeller would be good and will it fit the 140mm pump?

What am I going to see for a top rpm range?

    Thanks,
    Barry

Keep the stock scoop grate. You can cut the center bars out for little better preforance. Post a pic
of your impeller from back side of pump. You may have a big hub.

I would go with a 9/17 Skat. Depending on engine set up will determine rpm.

I would work on getting the 750 back in the boat.

Re: '90 Jetmate tunnel removal and hull overhaul

I got my spare 750 a stock long block motor from a '92 750ss in the boat now with the ss electronics not the 650. With this motor and the 9/15 Hooker it is topping out at 6000 rpm.

It won't take a good picture of pump from rear. The 9/15 Hooker hub is about .250" larger than the center bearing housing of the pump. For comparison a 9/17 Scat hub is the same size as the bearing housing of a spare pump I have on the shelf. The 9/15 Hooker would be a big hub?

Looked at Impros impeller chart and they are calling out a Scat 9/17 on stock 750ss. I got a good one on the shelf, would it be worth a try?

I'm thinking your nozzel is to small causing the low rpm. Want to say I ran a 84mm nozzel but not sure been 8 years ago. I would keep the large hub on for now and go bigger on nozzel.

Maybe delgan will chime in on the nozzel size or you hit him up on what he found to be best.
I know he tried quite a few.

Found and reread delagem build. He ended up with a 74mm nozzle with 800 engine and top rpm of 6630 but he also has the rocket exhaust.

The stock nozzle is 90mm. Next time I go out will pull reverse bucket and can switch nozzles on the water easily.

How did this build turn out? Would you recommend filling the hull?
