Red face Finally took it to the water!

Last saturday had the chance to re-test the rebuild and almost everything went smooth.

It started just fine on the trailer and in water, but after it sat for 5 minutes, it would start but VERY rough. I could give gas but it sounded like a missing spark.

I insisted and eventually (very difficult) the engine came back to "normal life" . I came aboard dad's boat for 2 or 3 minutes, when I started the engine, the roughness cabe back (its the beggining of the video).

This never happened again the whole day, so it got me puzzled....

my first thought when it does that....is its on the rich side, and when its idling....it "chalks" up the plugs...and they start not to fire.....higher rpm cleans them out....so you could check plugs and adjust a little bit if needed

I thought about debries on the carb, that allowed fuel to keep pouring inside evend with the engine off... (Note: I have a primer installes)

But afterwards it sat for 1 hour or so, and everything was perfect..... ? Lol.

It's nice to see another ski resurrected like this one. Sometimes something strange happens with a new build like this and you can never understand why it happened. If it ran all day without a problem then just forget it ever happened.
