Wires from the stator. Test the Gray and black, and Red and black wires.

    (1) Red wire from meter to Red wire from stator---Black wire from the meter to the Black wire
    from the stator.

    (2) Red wire from meter to Red wire from stator---Black wire from the meter to the Black wire
    from the stator.

Spark plugs in the head, and crank over the engine while watching your meter. If you get zero,
change your multimeter to ohm test and perform an ohm test just like 1 & 2.

Pillazilla I have read your post and if you have changed your ebox and no change then it is 1 of 2 things. Firstly check all of the wires running to the stator that there are no breakages. (take the wrapping off so you can see properly, you have to remember these skis are over 25 to 30 years old, wires do **** out) If your wires are fine then it is most likely your exciter coil or pulse. I say exciter. If I were you I would go buy a new exciter and pulse coil and put them straight in and I put money on it you will be running. I have had them fail before which is pain in *** as you have to take engine out to get at them. Replace them both and you will be fine. They are old bits of gear, and chances are some dumb barstard tipped oil or water into the inspection hole at some point and time has killed them.
