    Body Beach buoys

Started riding our X2s at Body beach this week. We noticed several of the buoys are in pretty bad shape. We happen to have some extras, and wondered who we should contact about replacing a few of the worst ones. I thought there was a 'Friends of Body Beach' group, and maybe we should contact them before stepping on anyone's toes. Anyone we should contact?

      Re: Body Beach buoys

Rode the course today and see that someone has replaced some buoys with new ones that are marked 'HPWCA'. However, there are still several ratty buoys, and we still have some we'd like to donate.
No one has contacted us via the FB attempt.

the Hill's own a few of them.

Just replace them and put the old ones near some bushes on the shore tied together. I dont think anybody would be pissypants over that. If they do get mad, they can suck it.

There are several that have been sliced (vandalized) and repaired by stuffing pool noodles in them. I also have one large white buoy I am going to donate. Giving them to Chris Hagest will probably get them set fast.

Large as in Skat-Trak? How much $$$$ you want for it? I need a full skat course.

Finally got in touch with Chris Hagest. We are going to get the buoys to him and he can take it from there.
They aren't as large as the Skat-Trak buoys, and we only have 7 or 8, so not a full course. But they are heavy duty, so we are hoping no one trashes them.

I wrote an abstract that there are basically four different types of buoys we might encounter in US waters: Red, green, red and green horizontally striped, and red and white vertically striped. We will talk about special buoys further below.
