    Re: Lake Austin event?

I think we should make it official with the 6/20 date. Can someone post on the X, Facebook, and whatever other social media that makes sense?

    Re: Lake Austin event?

Hey guys, just wanted to check and see if this is gonna happen. Some buddies and I from Houston wanna join in. 2-4 skis pending who goes. Saw 6/20 @ Emma long park and wanted to confirm that's it. Looked on maps and it pulled it up off Colorado river SE of Travis. Any plans on getting on the lake? Not familiar with the area. Thanks.

    Re: Lake Austin event?

6/20 is still the plan. Hopefully we don't get rained out!

The boat ramp at the park is at https://www.google.com/maps/place/Em...6e6ca8!6m1!1e1

There are 4 public boat ramps on the lake. The other 3 are:

    Mary Quinlan Park https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3274.../data=!3m1!1e3

    360 bridge https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3274.../data=!3m1!1e3

    Walsh landing https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3274.../data=!3m1!1e3

Mary Quinlan park is the only one that is free. The rest will run $10 per towing vehicle. The 360 bridge isn't all that far from Emma Long park and many of the people going to that park will end up crossing that bridge. To drive to Emma Long park, you'll take RM 2222 (contrary to Google maps directions because Courtyard Drive off of loop 360 is a bit twisty and hilly) and turn south onto City Park Road. The park is about 3.5 miles down the road. The rest of the road is hilly and winding and I hate driving it but there's no alternative to get to that park.

Emma Long has lots of shallow water to anchor your ski and a decent amount of area to beach it. It also has plenty of shade, picnic tables, fully equipped restrooms, and even outdoor showers. Overnight camping is available (BYO tent or RV plus camping fee). Some info about the park here: http://www.austinparks.org/our-parks.html?parkid=247

Does Emma Long Park have electric/water hookups for RV? Is there a way to make reservations that anyone knows of? I sure cant find one, but would like to bring my popup and stay the weekend.

Another web site for the Austin parks https://austintexas.gov/department/city-parks shows that they will be accepting reservations for the summer season, but they aren't taking them yet and they haven't indicated when they will be accepting reservations. Sign up for the email alert for that notification (follow the link to Austin Notes).

They aren't answering the phone at the park apparently. It does appear that some utilities are available at campsites:

Primitive Camping Site (no utilities) - $10.00 per night
Primitive Camping Site (with water) - $20.00 per night
Premium Camping Site (Utility Camping Non-Waterfront with water and electric) - $20.00 per night
Premium Camping Site (Utility Camping Waterfront with water and electric) - $25.00 per night
We do not reserve campsites. Camping is first come first serve. [contradicts info at the top of the web page ]
Checkout of campsites are done by 12:00 PM (Noon)
Sites must be occupied during stay; this can do done with your tent, RV or motor home.
