It's not a Jetski, but it goes just the same!

Since I just tore my ACL, and my summer of jetski'n is looking bleak, I figured it's time I get my recent purchase ready for a summer in the sun. At the end of last season a ran across a barn find I couldn't pass up. A rough looking 1992 ultranautics jetstar 1240 with a solid motor and trailer. Having a 90hp Force(Mercury) powerhead in it. The floor was rotted out, so I decided to tear the entire boat apart and give it some needed TLC.

Mocking up the new floor, then time to glass it up.

3 coats of epoxy later and the floor is ready to be fastened and glassed into the hull

Test fitting the old toe board before I make a new one. The old plywood is pretty waterlogged and rotten.

Hey KP did you cut out the main seat all the To the storage and engine bay, I have an 88 that needs a new floor. Not to sure how to tackle it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I cut the seat halfway up the backrest, just above the radius's of the glass on both sides, leaving enough room and meat for me to rivet in an aluminum mounting plate so I could glass it back in. This gave me enough room to cut out the floor from the forward/reverse seat forward, which was the really rotten section for me. The walkway to the stern was not too bad in my case, so I just sanded and put a few sheets of glass down to seal and stiffen it. You can sorta see in post #4 how far back the seat got cut.

I took off the bond line to see if I could split the hull easy enough, but it looked to be a much larger job cuz you would have to basically dissemble the entire boat so I refrained

I suppose I can give an update, it has been awhile but the boat is near completion. It is completely assembled, just waiting on graphics and mc numbers
