Re: Honda ECU part number 38770-HW4-681
I bought it as a spare due hard to get parts for hondas I didn't want a good ski and no ECU = no go.
When I thought I had a ECU problem running odd every so often, I could not work it out I tryed the new ECU made no difference so pulled it back out again.
Found the problem a crack in exhaust manifold and water coming back causing miss fire.
Since traded in the Honda now have a Seadoo Spark so just cleaning up my left over bits.Regards Xdrian

Re: Honda ECU part number 38770-HW4-681
Hi
How much would be your lowest price on that? My ski won't start. Everything seems to work. Turns over, there is spark ,gas, No fault codes. I bought two new sets of spark plugs, new battery. Still nothing. When I installed the first new set of plugs it started up after a few try for a few seconds but it died when I released the throttle. Will not fire up since then. That's why I am thinking it might be the ecu (or can it be?).I pulled off the injector connectors and tried to start it a few times then a trouble code came up. When I plugged them back on , the code dissapered. That means the ecu works(I think).Checked fuel pressure (43psi). Pulled the fuel pumps fuse so it won't push gas and tried to spray starter fluid still won't start. Checked spark on all cylinders, Only "bad" what I've seen here is that if I pushed the button for a little bit longer, then the spark got weaker. But that is because of the battery gets tired I think. Checked main relay too. I Couldn't check compression yet because I don't have the 10mm adaptor for my set. But the compression should be good because it was running strong last September before I put it in the garage. Maybe valves stuck open??? I was able to start it up twice in the winter time. Now I've learned that these spark plugs don't like "short running" , and how sensitive they are. Then I just replaced them. Let me know if anybody has any idea what could be the problem. Thanks

Re: Honda ECU part number 38770-HW4-681
well you tried everything if your getting fuel pressure the main relay must be working for the fuel pump.
I would do a compression test before any thing else easy check and will tell a lot my R12 was around 170psi per cyl anything over 150psi will work.
Disconnect the voltage reg just in case its faulty letting ac over the DC side another quick check easy.
Try easy things first.
As for ECU I was thinking $400 US plus shipping let me know if you want it and we work out the details

I can't say for sure but its a non turbo and for the 1300 cc motor I don't see why it would not work.
I have cut and paste a parts listing for you maybe some one will know for sure lot cheaper than listed.
it shows first number is the original and second number is the updated part number from memory
38700-HW2-305
38770-HW2-682 $1,316.25 $977.32
