    Satilla River

I'm considering a trip to Georgia around April.
A year or so ago I rode the Altamaha River, and thought I'd check out the Satilla. Can anyone provide me any insight as to good boat ramps, water conditions and the like?

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Re: Satilla River

I live in Jesup (off the Altamaha River), and I talked with a friend who lives in Woodbine (on the Satilla). He said there is a boat ramp there. The Satilla River opens up into St. Andrew Sound and it can be pretty rough going thru there with an Easterly wind. Farther south close to St. Mary's you could use the ramp at Crooked River State Park.

Here is a link to a Satilla River guide
