I just wanted to introduce myself to this group. I got two stand up this past summer and love them! Don't know much about jet skis, but willing to learn how to work on them if someone is willing to teach me. Not that good of a rider either, I know how to get up and go straight but turning is challenging. LOL! I live in Lincoln so Camp Far West is not too far away. Hope to see you guys at the lake when it gets warmer.

Re: Noob here
Welcome to the forum. But mostly welcome to jetskiing. What model skis did you get? What kind of work do you need to do? Forum's been quiet lately, but if the weather stays prematurely warm, things will be buzzing.
As far as learning to ride. Start one step at a time. Ride kneeling till you get the hang of the power and speed of the ski. Then learn to lean into the turns with the ski and powering out of the turns. Once you're comfortable with controlling and turning the ski, then go ahead and stand up. While making turns, you will need to lean inside the turn with the ski. If you get in trouble, you can get low, or even revert back to a kneel to gain control. You will be amazed how fast you can improve.
Have a blast!!RACING IS A GOOD EXCUSE FOR MORE TIME ON THE WATER.

Re: Noob here
Thanks! I have a 440 and 650. Originally just got the 440 but my fiancé ended up claiming it as hers so got the 650 for me. LOL! I appreciate the tips and will try that next time we go out, hopefully soon. I just need to learn basic maintenance for now. Nothing really wrong with either ski. The 440 has a Kerker pipe and the 650 is stock, but I may look into a pipe for the 650.

Re: Noob here
Welcome, You live by one of the best ride spots around (CFW). We drive down from Reno just to ride there. Great group of jet skiers on that lake.
Also when you get the hang of that 650 look up DJSAracing, They have races at the lake there, I think twice this year. So come on out and race. Good times!Jetjamracing.com

Thanks for the tips! I can't wait to go riding again and I will look them up. I probably will just watch and not embarrass myself. LOL
CFW is the best and I didn't even know it was there until a friend of mine told me and it's like 15 minutes away from my house. Oh and BTW I use a blue neon to pull the skis so if you ever saw a blue neon there, that was me.
