Will the PWC facebook groups replace this site one day? I know some people on here are not on facebook. But I have been members of other forums not related to PWC's and they lost a large chunk of users to FB groups.

95% of internet conversation is nowhere near intelligent. Most morons can't spell, have no idea how to use punctuation, and think jet skis have props.I'm only here to make you mad

Pwctoday is easier to get onto because you don’t need and account to view but you also can argue gn has billions of members a lot of people on her have established relationships and prefer to come on here aswell as on here there is a lot of archied information if you want to bring in math a lot more data is compressed on this site than one of the fb groups you can argue I️t is easy to hope onto another fb group for additional information, but people feel more comforsble here

Re: PWC Groups on Facebook
My experience on Facebook groups is they like to argue a lot, way worse that here and with little to no moderation, not a fan !Y'all know me, still the same O.G. but I been low-keyhated on by most these &^$$@s with no cheese, no deals and no G's, no wheels and no keys, no boats, no snowmobiles, and no skis, mad at me cause I can finally afford to provide my family with groceries

Re: PWC Groups on Facebook
FB is gaining momentum for sure.. but it's a horrible platform for anything more than brief tidbits of info to see at a glance. And it's extremely difficult to find things again. It is good to buy and sell parts though.
The average level of knowledge is definitely less. I have asked the same questions on here and on FB. On FB I will get 10 times the replies but 90% of it will be irrelevant BS. The biggest issue I see is that on here, your reputation can grow based on the info you post, the builds you create, and people you help. You can reach a level of authority which FB just doesn't have. Any random moron can question guys who are industry leaders. That leveling the playing field can be good, but it is also extremely irritating if you have an established level of experience and are actually trying to get something done or find good info. You have the feeling that posting on FB is like advertising to the world that you've done something, where as posting up here (with a build thread or whatever) feels like you're talking with a group of riding buddies who have been there and done that with you.
Plus lets face it, by this point FB is on the decline amongst most people. (I say that based on my gut reaction from knowing tons of people on it, and general trends I'm seeing. I don't have any data to back that up). Those I know who are still really into it, they do it out of social obligation and that's about it. It's no longer cutting edge or (in my mind) perceived to be techy or cool. Simply because everyone has done it and (I believe) is bored of it.
My two cents, FWIW.Last edited by theVetteman3; 09-25-2018, 07:33 AM.1985 JS550/800 "Pretty Red": Newmiller 800, Rhaas 750 pump conv. [56.3mph gps]
