I went with a 12 vein set back 140 Mag pump. Hopefully testing soon.

Didnt do alot this weekend....cleaned hull and epoxied inside. Parts are coming next week, so while its light weight, Ill work on the bottom of the hull.

I was also a little distracted by these two.......Fall is in the air here in Reno

    Re: Project HX

I need help from the experts.......Im still on the fence about the pump situation. Keep the 140 or go 155? The 155 is alot of work and I dont know how much of a gain it is? And can someone school me on the effect of different size nozzles? Maybe put one on the 140?? Im just not sure what to do......

    Anyone?

I can't help with pump info, but your build potential is sweet. I like your fab work on the stand/roll around cart.

The work your putting in is quality.
    Keep up the good work.
I'm following along. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

If you stay with a 140 pump then go with a 6 or 12 vein mag pump

    Re: Project HX

So, I fabricated a little piece today. I like the Rad Dudes big oil pump block off plate, but I still wanted the water cooled stator. Even though the HX is much lighter than the big ol' Kawi the motor came out of, I still like the Idea of a cooler stator..
I removed th big C clip that holds in the oil pump shaft and bearing, pressed out the bearing, replaced the bearing with this same size aluminum plug I made on the lathe, put the C clip back in. I used a little rtv for extra sealant.
I probably didnt need to do this but the only thing between the water cooling and the stator is that goofy shaped o-ring, and the oil pump bearing was toast, anyways. I feel better now! Besides, it fun to play on a real lathe once in a while.....
