    Project HX

    Hi all,
Im starting a project. Its been done before by others. An 1100 in an HX I have to have this done by the end of February 2015.

Back story..... I have 2 97 XP's and a 95sxi standup. Love them all. But I always wanted an HX. As I was searching for a CL deal, I read Chris03HD's build thread. Now I "had" to have one! Keep in mind, I have never rode one before. I have heard lots of pros and cons on that? Pulled the trigger anyway and found a deal in Vegas. So I bought it.

Got it home, went through everything, it was all good. Finally got it out to the lake. After the first 30 seconds, I was hooked....best ski ever!! (well, sitdown anyway). Ive raced motocross all my life and this is as close as it gets! And I thought the XP's handled awesome.

So, that was the icing on the cake! Sorry Chris03HD, but Im copying you....not exactly...but close.

I have gathered most of the parts needed, minus a few custom pieces. Obviously, I will have to fab quite a bit myself. Not a problem. As I do this, Im hoping for opinions, input, sugestions and ideas. Maybe bypass some headaches that previous builders have had?

Right now, Im making a shop cart. Way to hard to work off of a trailer! After Labor vacation, I will start in on the ski. This is going to be fun!!!

    Re: Project HX

I started pulling the rest of the ski apart today. Pretty soon I will have just a hull only. The only thing left on it will be the pump shoe. Which has me wondering? Should I switch to a 155mm pump instead of the stock 140mm pump. I realize its a little extra work, but by the time I buy a pump and pump shoe, is it worth the time and money?
    Anyone with input on this?
