Looking for sagamore beach area PWC info

My family is renting a house on sagamore beach in a couple of weeks, and have invited me and my PWCs down to join them. The rental includes use of a private beach they say, but they don't have much info.

Anyone know if we can hang out on sagamore beach, and take turns with the skis? Where would we put in? Can't find a nearby ramp. Any help would be great, as I would hate to drive the 2+ hours to find we can't ride in the bay.

Also, how is riding in cape cod bay? Is this something we even want to be doing?

    Hey Rob,
Riding in the Bay is legal, the problem is getting them there in that area. I live next to White Cliffs and haven't brought my skis to our beach yet.

The closest ramp is Sandwich Marina and you should call them to find out if you can launch there. Might be prohibited due to Canal regulations.

As far as riding out there it's almost always dead calm just be careful of rocks near the shore. Check out your beach at low tide. Ours has a few huge boulders you can't see at high.

There is a nice lake you can ride a few minutes from Sag Beach

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Is there a public beach area or picnic area for hanging out on Great Herring Pond?

Not really, just a sand parking lot/ramp. Might need 4wd to launch it's pretty shallow and stay away from the shore when riding. Water is nice though

You could launch at lil sandy pond road and hang out on the north side near Carter's bridge

Sandwich Marina confirms that you can't ride a jetski in the canal. You can tow them from a boat, but I have no boat, so no launching at sandwich.

The lake would be fine except I don't have a 4 wheel drive. In fact my tow vehicle is a corolla. I have a couple sea doo sparks. Pretty light trailer, even fully loaded with 2 sparks. Also, I'm doubting the family wants to hang out on shore where there isn't a nice picnic area or beach available while we take turns on the doos.

I guess I may be out of luck for sagamore jet skiing. Thanks for the info though.

We go here, it's about 15min from Sag Beach. The Mashpee Commons is down the street if non riders want to shop or whatnot.

The ramp is nice and the lake is big & clean. There is a beach, it's free to park during the week at the state ramp.

Mashpee looks perfect, except the website says the beach is for town residents only.

Just when I thought we'd be able to ride on our vacation...

For the beach parking lot you need a town sticker but you can walk over from the state ramp. You can't park at the ramp without a trailer on the weekends 7 - 4 but weekdays no problem.

If you do go stay away from the shore and the swim zones when riding. There is a no wake channel between ponds and stay off the islands, they're covered in poison ivy

If you're feeling brave you can ride out of Falmouth to Oak Bluffs on MV. No sticker required at the Falmouth ramps

Thanks for all the info. Looks like we'll be riding the lake. Not gonna do Falmouth to MV. We aren't the most experienced riders, and have just a couple of Sea Doo Sparks. Don't think I'd feel that comfy on a spark myself, never mind my parents in their late 60s. The lake will be adequate for us.

Are the swim zones buoyed off?

I don't have a lot of PWC experience, just some GTS 130 renting in the past, but I LOVE the sparks. Super nimble. Really cheap to keep them fueled. Getting lots of ride time this summer. I love going out for 2.5 hours and thrashing around on the lake, and spending $15 in gas. It is wonderful from that perspective especially.

All my friends and family love them. We are having a lot of fun this summer for sure.
