Friends of 'Crockett (Dave Castle, Bakersfield)

I am very sorry to report that Dave passed away July 1.
I had lost touch with him over the last year and had no idea that he was seriously ill until I was notified by a mutual friend of the loss.

He was a great riding partner and a big help to me as I fought the mechanical war to stay on the water with my first jet ski. He was a big guy but could make his SXR go wherever he pointed it, and fast. . .usually leaving me to wipe out behind him while trying to keep up.

He was dedicated to the sport, especially to the racing community, and still held strong loyalties to sponsors, racers and friends that he had come to know over the years.
He was a knowledgeable and generous friend who will be remembered and missed.

His obituary is here for those interested:

    RIP 'Crockett

    You WILL be missed!

I didn't know him very well... but the conversations that we did have were great. I hope that those whom he sparred with on this site will have the decency not to flame this thread.

I will miss his witty posts!

Rest in peace to a great member of this forum that will definitely be missed. I will miss his smart assed replies to idiotic posts.

    One last for you, 'Crockett!
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am not a big man.

Rest in peace. Never met him in person, like many people here, but I still feel as though I've lost a friend...

Dave was a real good guy with a great heart. Funny as hell and always quick to help. Cant say enough good things about the man.

sad news for sure. It sucks to lose one of our own in the sport, especially a longtime member on PWCT. Thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.
