Now that the 2014 Sortie is over, it's time to start thinking 2015 Wisconsin Dells Freeride, right?

I just got the hull back from Freestyle Dave last night, and decided to make some progress.

Re: 2015 Dells Raffle Ski Discussion Thread - ANOTHER SUPER JET???

I actually had a couple volunteers who picked up this ski from me, after I had pulled the motor and pump. This was right after the Dells Freeride, in early June. The plan was for them to clean it up (keep in mind that a family of chipmunks had been living in it), and finish stripping and disassembling it, so that Freestyle Dave could paint it. Ideally, I was to get it back by Labor Day weekend (as in THIS weekend), with fresh paint, so the assembly could begin and I could get it in the water before the end of this riding season. Well, after about 8 weeks, I found that the ski had been sitting, untouched, outside, so I had Freestyle Dave pick it up. He cleaned up the chipmunk sh!t himself and started sanding/prepping. This ski had multiple layers of brushed-on paint, so I'm sure this was a helluva fun job. Anyhow Dave did what he could with the ski still assembled, as wrenching ain't his thing, and then he contacted me to let me know about the cracks he had found. (see pics) So, I grabbed it last night and worked on it last night and early this am. (The pics above show the tray I just stripped, which is freakin' beautiful - straightest one I've seen in years.) I also finished removing the handlepole, nosepiece, and assorted remaining items. It is now ready for the hull repairs, which Mr. Generous, Joe Bohazcek, has volunteered to do - so the ski will be going to him next. After Joe is done, it will go back to Dave for paint, and then back to me again, for final assembly and tuning - I still need to go through the motor anyhow.

In the meantime, I just sent an e-mail to another very generous person, John Dady, from Blowsion - who has always helped us out a ton at ALL the past Dells Freerides. Based upon the cracks in this hull, it dawned on me that a set of Blowsion Destroyer tubbies (just like on my Sleeperjet), installed with 5200 instead of silicone, would be PERFECT for making this hull bulletproof for years to come - so I begged and begged in an e-mail to John. Keep your fingers crossed.

A few remaining items I could still use for this raffle SJ:

    Short exhaust hose
Battery (a good used one is fine too)
    Handlepole and steering bushings
    Waterbox
Fuel door for the oem nosepiece - maybe you've got a trashed nosepiece with a good fuel door?

Hull repairs and paint are looking like they'll be done around the end of September, and I'll have the motor ready by then as well. I'd like to start assembly by early October and maybe even get her in the water this fall. Thanks.

Hull repairs/reinforcement is done and I took it back to Freestyle Dave last night for paint.

Oh, and I also purchased a pro vxr last week - and the 701 from that ski will now be going in this raffle SJ = yes, the 2015 Dells Freeride raffle ski will be a 701 Super Jet. How cool is that?

Still working on a few other surprises folks. Hold on to your hats ...

Re: 2015 Dells Raffle Ski Discussion Thread - ANOTHER SUPER JET???

Here are some update pics of the 2015 raffle SJ courtesy of Freestyle Dave. I'm still working on options for obtaining a set of front sponsons for it = donations and/or ideas are welcome. Whoever's sponsons wind up on this hull will certainly get some decent exposure between here, on our facebook page, and at the 2nd largest freeride in the US, just sayin' ...

The fedex man dropped off some goodies today for the 2015 raffle ski and one of my personal SJs. I also got the new crank seals installed in the 61x donor motor today. Carb is getting rebuilt tomorrow. Now if I could just get the hull back from freestyle dave ... Oh well, he has assured me that it will be worth the wait and better than any oem paint job.

Before and after paint last night. It's getting very close to sponson install time for me and final assembly. Anticipation is building ...
