The Pensacola Beach Chamber announced that Andrew Zimmern best known for his long-running mega hit show “Bizarre Foods” on the Travel Channel is headed to Taste of the Beach. The popular food festival held on Pensacola Beach, September 14 and 15 will feature Zimmern in a cooking demonstration, an audience involved Q&A and opportunity for autograph signing at a meet and greet. Festival organizer, Shelley Johnson says, “I can’t think of a better guest chef—when you look at his amazing popularity and accessibility—it will be a real treat for our guests and chefs here on the Island—we are really excited.” The celebrity chef will also judge a dessert contest by dishes prepared by local chefs. The festival runs from 11-4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

The Pensacola Beach Chamber received funding through a grant from BP to expand the festival offerings. Leadership at the Chamber sees this year’s boost as one to grow on. “We are thrilled to have a draw like Zimmern who will energize both locals and tourists to enjoy the festival and see Zimmern. People of all ages love Andrew giving us a chance to show them what our festival is all about and invite them back for years to come,” said Nicole Stacey, President/CEO of the Pensacola Beach Chamber. Festival guests can experience the cuisine from the most talented chefs on Pensacola Beach. A surf camp, car show, beading station, crab races, mermaid parade, music and more will keep kids of all ages busy.
