    zero water means no cooling...... i had a problom only a few weeks ago where my exhaust over heated and melted the couplings....at the same time water in the hull turned to steam basically the engine was breathing in hot steamed air dont know if i lost performance becouse when i noticed my problom i nursed it back home

    im not to sure when they mean dry out the exhaust ...maybe in race where the ski is only running for so many minutes not enough time to do damage hopefully some one can chime in

    how ever it could mean dry it out by limiting the flow of water to the exhaust enough to keep it cool there are a few easy mods to do this ...
