I have tried hitting the coupler with a dead blow hammer and still no movement. I don't what to break the coupler pounding on it. Any ideas?

is the cap with the 4 bolts holding driveshaft bearing out? if yes then the shaft is frozen into the prop. using the hammer is right, if it does not come out then cut the shaft with grinding wheel thru tunnel with intake grate off to separate .

Yes the cap is off, had to cut 3 of the 4 bolts to get it off.

Ok, just keep at it with hammer till breaks loose or damage the coupler, then cut!

    Thanks

    Re: mid shaft leak

If I do end up cutting, does the shaft usually stay corroded to impeller, requiring a new imp, or is there a way to separate?

Also is the coupler usually stuck as well?

Well it doesn't matter now because the coupler is in 3 pieces! Gonna get cutting the shaft.

yes cut the shaft to separate, then make 2 flat spots with grinding wheel on remaining piece of shaft to be able to put a pipe wrench and unbolt prop from jet pump (reverse thread) then when the prop is out , the center of the prop is hollow and will punch out or press out remaining piece of the shaft from inside of the thread out. not easy sometimes but the best way i found so far.

So much fun in this thread.

Not difficult but can be a PITA. I am numb to doing these...great job Yamaha.

Use a heat gun on the remaining glue & it will come right off.
