The Madison lakes are fun and have good city scenery. I ride Monona 90% of the time because it has Slalom buoys I shred after work.

Mendota is always rough when you get some wind, and they're not rollers, so no launching off of them. Both lakes are plagued with algae, if you don't mind that.

Thank's for the info. I'm going to look at some lake maps tonight.

I'll be out all weekend riding somewhere. Checked the surf reports, no chance of anything on the BIG Lake Today or tomorrow.

    Anybody riding this weekend?

The dredging project started. No sitdowns or boats can get out of the launch area. Of course you can just sneak a stand up underneath the yellow rope way on the left hand side.

I went out for about 15 minutes. Too early in the season and out of shape for all that noise.

I also started having fueling issues so the ski would shut down.

The rope and black thing was broken so you could easily get in and out of the harbor but the many steel posts were still there.

They would appear and disappear with every wave. Scary! One of those going through the hull would be bad news.

Anyone been out there since? I'm interested in seeing how long this project will last.

Are they just scooping up the sand and moving it? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Re: Bender Park

I have not been out since last weekend, before they started the work.

I am not sure what there plans are, I would think they need to extend the break wall to the south more to avoid constant dredging.

On a side note though, they are charging. Was a guy there in a Ranger uniform in a Milwaukee County van putting envelopes on every ones windshield, pay or else. He cut me some slack, I told him I would go to McKinley or Southshore during the week & get my season pass.

Another update from the front lines.

I'm assuming they are going to install something along the posts to divert or slow down any waves. It seems like they are just going to scoop out the sand and move it.

You can still push a pwc over that rope between all the posts for the time being.
