    Kawi 750 ignition question

I have the opportunity to run either a 750 flywheel/stator with the corresponding ebox with an MSD enhancer (+ retard module) and a R&D timing advance.

    - or -

A Dales Bad Attitude with a 650 flywheel and no rev limiter.

Which one would you use and why....

This setup will be in my Conversion ski with a PJS 700 top end and a 650 Factory Pipe.

    Thanks for your constructive input.

100% sx/sxi ignition. Better timing map, better CDi with much better timing accuracy in the pickup. The msd module with the corresponding parts has a different curve than oem. If i was turning 7500 rpm or less rpm I would use the OEM cdi the r&d plate. The OEM CD I has an 8000 rpm limiter. You'll never hit it....

Listen to MTRHEAD - he knows of what he speaks. I would, however definitely send the 750 flywheel out to #0 and have him lighten it as much as possible. Cheap bang for the buck

    Kawi 750 ignition question

I agree! I am running a lightened stocker with r&d plate. Really snappy throttle response.

    Re: Kawi 750 ignition question

I ran the MSD enhancer/ advance plate/ retard module set up last season and the ski ripped. I ran a dales in the past on my 650 and it only seemed to want to work half the time. Maybe because it was so old, I don't know, but I do know my 800 was pretty fast last year with the MSD, I only swapped it out for an Advent total loss this season.

What about the sxi pro / xir / 03 sxr cdi? That would be an improvement as well, right? Then you wouldn't need to run the timing advance.

In my skis I'm either running the xir/ pro CDIs or Advent T3. My brother and I really like the Advent on our full blown engines, one more piece of the puzzle to having a sick engine. Plus I like to tinker so having the 4 different curves is cool.

MSD... Retard module is a must with the advance plate on pump gas.

    Re: Kawi 750 ignition question

When I started this thread I was really on the fence about which way to go on this topic. I have all of the parts for both setups and didn't want to make a change if it would be just a little difference.

Thanks for all of the input, I really appreciate it.

Here is some of the new hardware that will be going back into my conversion ski.
