Sorry but you're probably not gonna have a lot of luck on this lake, but you could try Lynn Deming Park. Unfortunately this lake has a stupid policy on waterfront businesses so the only restraunt on the water is down the hatch, and there's not much of a beach near there. I'd say try Squantz cove cuz there's a public park and ramp. I think there's a few places you could hold a competition on the lake but definitely not a mile of beach and probably not many bars. If you were just doing a get together I would be more help, but there's so many people on this lake it's hard to find a spot to race.

Fanning75 - thank you! .. Would you or any of you CT riders know of a lake that has a waterfront bar/restaurant and a couple thousand feet of beach? .. Looking for a CT venue which could accommodate a sanctioned closed course racing weekend.

Depends on when and where you ride on the lake, you go out during a holiday weekend and ride with a bunch of skis they will come over and safety check you. i have found lake lilinoah more relaxing

I'm on the west side of vaughns neck, about halfway between chattertons and chicken rock. It's one of the cabins with no road access.

I have yet to ride there but I went to check it out this weekend and ate at down the hatch. I drove to a state ramp called Ladden (sp?) or something similar. Do you know if that is open to all and is it free? I live in orange so I would hate to trailer there and find out it was only for residents. Looking to ride there some time this summer.

Latins cove is a free ramp, let me just tell you that ramp sucks.... all out of state and newbies at that ramp, it can get scary and long long lines to get in and out. the no wake is like a mile long. your better off going to new fairfield and paying the 15 dollars to launch for the day or pay for a season pass. I launch from brookfield ramp (which is down the street from the hatch) thank god is residents only and a pay ramp.
