    Candlewood Lake

Being fairly new to the sport and living just 17 miles from the lake, almost a no brainer on where to ride.Keeping it at a marina on the lake over in New Fairfield presently.Any tips hints or suggestions about Candlewood? Thanks in advance and hope everyone has a great Christmas and a fantastic holiday season, take care.

Everytime I go to Candlewood Lake on my jet ski's I get asked to leave by DEP! Not just on my blasters, but even driving my couch safely with my daughter! They seem to find a bull$hit reason every f***ing time! Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful lake but the authorities are more worried about where your reg decals are placed on your pwc rather then the four intoxicated a$$holes leaving "Down The Hatch" on a boat they have no experience driving!

    Re: Candlewood Lake

That is the only reason I wound up at the marina in the first place was because of them, lol.Pulled in to Squantz Cove end of August,They tried giving me a hassle about my Boating certificate from New York because it was just the temp.Finished my classes but was still waiting on the card. The guy was a total ***,even told him that I was former Marine and had also water safety qualified as a lifeguard while in the service as well,he said "Who cares so was I?"..........my wife grabbed my arm at that point while I told him in a pretty calm voice word for word..."No former Marine would speak to another after the fact so you sir are full of **** AND an asshole." His partner was with him and at that point they agreed that I was "OK''........never dropped it in,just turned around got in the truck and left I was so pissed.Few miles down the street popped in to the marina where I'm at now, told the owner he said that I could drop here anytime I wanted no charge and also apologized for the DEP when he had nothing to do with it......I then spoke to him about possibly storing as i live in the frickin "boonies" and worried about trees falling, animals getting in to it and basically the safety of the ski in the winter.Stored, serviced unlimited drop ins in the nice weather free,Service,storage(6 months),winterization and shrink wrap $400 bucks.Thought it was a great deal,he's even going to put fresh oil and service it prior to putting it back in,they have been around since 1929 so I figured, can't beat that.Needless to say,ski has been there since, they will do the services and such on it and hopefully, won't have any more problems,we'll see.Did do the break in at Whaley(I'm over in Beekman), and shredded the bouy course at the north end after the break in,Don's cool but the marina could use a little tlc don't you think?lol......all good.Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.

Myself as well.Kind of surprised, have heard alot talk about Zoar here on the forums and nothing about Candlewood since I joined.Maybe this is the reason, getting hassled?Even with valid reg, stickers, equipment, certificates they still bust stones....

I even had my badge with me from NYS and the most professional courtesy they would offer was no tickets and to take the "scenic" ride back to the boat ramp and leave!..lol As for Zoar, it is a great lake as well. Some of the guy's I was with were stopped, but not ticketed, or asked to leave so we enjoyed our ride there.

What was the reason for asking you to leave if you don't mind me asking?Maybe I can cover that base as well prior,lol...
