    light bulb

Any thoughts on putting a small 60 watt light bulb in the engine compartment - just in case ALL the water was not evacuated during the RV antifreeze procedure? Then only turn on during extremely cold nights.

I use only small 800 watt thermostaticly controlled electric heaters in mine with the tipover switch taped over and they work very well. The draw no power unless the hull goes below 40 degrees inside. If the power goes off, my house generator kicks in.

I put a string of christmas light in mine when the temps get low, they heat up the inside of the engine compartment just enough without risk of anything burning up. just make sure they are not led lights, I use the cheap dollar store kind.

I live in Minnesota and both my skis are stored outside during the winter. I have had my 03 since new and it has seen -20 degrees with no issues. I just follow the normal winterizing procedures as outlined in the manual.

Thanks guys for all your input. I did do the regular winterizing procedure, but had trouble getting rv antifreeze out of the pisser ( or for that matter , anything out of the pisser). The light should work well. Merry Christmas to all.

You can use a drill pump with enough antifreeze, it will go out of your pisser.

One thought. Caution using any type of pump...The idea behind the gravity fed system and specific amount of anti freeze is to keep liquid from pushing back into the engine. Same reason you don't pressure the cooling intake until the engine is already running.

If you're worried about backing up into the engine, pump the antifreeze in with it running. It will only take a few seconds.

That is why I recommend a drill pump, you can control the drill rpm's.
