Dam, I remember those days, froze my ars off riding across the ice. I'm right by Olbrick off Lake Monona. What you got your SXR set up for class wise?

SXR is stock except for the handlepole and bars. What ice? I rode LaCrosse River, Black River and the Mississippi on Thursday, 64 degrees and all to myself. Skipped/hopped a wing dam, very low water.

Re: Lake Columbia - Who's been there?

A handful of MN guys went out there about 5-6 years ago, it was awesome! Definitely up there for fond memories of jetski days past, I would probably go out there and risk the ticket if it wasn't so far away. I have pictures somewhere, just thinking about it makes me want to drive out there!!!

gotta love the no fun police. I remember all the threads of you guys adding pissers on your feet and hands to keep warm back in the day at the "hot tub".

Im pretty sure there is the same sorta setup up in ND that Nolan was telling me about. Pretty sure he said there were zero issues with riding it too. Really long ways for you WI guys...prob about the same distance for us MN guys.

Just think of a group get together in Jan-Feb...a huge bonfire would be a must!

Nick, you didn't need to reroute the pissers. If you got cold you just dropped-in and got warm. It was one of the coolest things that I have ever experienced. If we planned a group thing I may consider a ND run just for the experience.

The thing to remember about a cooling pond is that the air can't be too cold and ideally there should be a breeze. Otherwise there is nothing but steam and you can't see anything. Ideal conditions are.........ideal.

Yeah it's fun riding here. It's a coal power plant that uses the lake to cool the plant. It's not like super warm water but it's not frozen!
