Re: Lake Columbia - Who's been there?

Lake Wisconsin is a party spot. Nobody cares if you're underage when you're on a sand bar, LOTS of people use the area. Everytime I go out, I end up partying with folks I've never met, some 17, some 57. When the water is low you can walk to the v-bar...
    Here it is:

I did have to laugh though, it was all "old" people who have no clue (Jet Ski is a PWC, a PWC is not a Jet Ski ) about anything going on in the world around them. I had a hard time listening to them conceptualize diameter vs radius for another ordinance.

When I left the meeting I was told to get involved, "There are no young people in local government."

Just tell the power plant folks that unless they let us ride the cooling lake, we'll start a huge anti-coal fired power plant smear campaign and destroy their whole industry.

Wait a sec, obama is already doing that. Never mind...

So, is the ordinance sign that got posted at the lake a few years ago still there, or is it torn down?

From reading this thread, it sounds like it's been torn down? More than once? Does anybody know if fishermen with fossil-fuel powered outboards have been using the lake since the old ordinance actually got posted?

    There are signs currently up.

At this point it's not worth the effort. Lake Clinton is a much nicer spot. It's actually setup to be a Recreation area with Boat launches, camp sites, showers, food, etc.

I plan on heading to Lake Clinton in two weekends, March 21st and riding Saturday the 22nd. The hot side won't be open yet, but that won't stop me!

the v bar gets a bad name from all the non local kids. When I was in high school we always picked up our trash and were respectful because the dnr would always just drive past and leave us alone as long as no one was causing trouble. Once you could walk across it started getting way crazier.

Last year I was cruising up river at dusk in my boat, and I stumbled upon two young people banging on a ZXI or some other 90s 2 seater. I just yelled H3LL Yeah! and kept hauling
