Re: 800 SXi Pro Build.. with Victor Sheldon's PV ski as inspiration

Frank, the Factory Pipe website has the install instructions for ECWI. I used their recommendation for through hole diameter but it could have been smaller too based on the spray nozzle dia.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Wow. Feel free to post as many pics here as you want! Could you put up more of the cylinder and case porting? The top of the case looks interesting, and I'd like to see what team Kawis Reed/ induction porting looks like also.

    Very cool

No updates on this ski. It hasn't been out a single time this year. Fact is my 09 SJ is a much better all around fun ski than this thing is super modded with tons of power.

I'll talk to Mr Noisy about posting up some of his engine pics. It'll be a nice tangent cataloged on this thread.

Re: 800 SXi Pro Build.. with Victor Sheldon's PV ski as inspiration

Ok guys I thought I'd post up some info / comparisons based on some stuff that has been posting up recently here. This is based on where this hull stands and my continued time on sxr 1100s, which I must admit I really like.

I would say with mods the handling of this hull could get so close to a sxr you wouldn't care about the difference. You can solve the lack of front side nose pressure, turning pop that helps you get back upright, with tubbies. I installed the original 3DR ones, and they provide a massive improvement. Any other tubbies such as the prowatercraft would be an equally large improvement. Stillstandin put a set of PW ones on his 750sx and I was shocked by how big of an improvement that was. Additional nose pressure can be solved by the right mix of hull extensions and ride plate. One mod which can be done to the hull extensions is to preserve the corner length, but cut back the horizontal length. This will reduce nose pressure while going straight but help the hull dig in while carving. The hull extensions basically put more weight on the nose, which is something the sxr had designed in. The key last thing which would have to be done, which the Team Kawasaki race skis had but not many consider, is a set back pump. This will give extra hook up and steering authority, making the ski feel more nimble.

Once all that is done, you basically have a ski that handles like a sxr. It jumps pretty flat because of the weight and the set up being optimized towards buoy racing. With an 1100 I think this would be a blast (Bruce do the conversion!!). With an 1100 and the right mods, this would be a really fun ski. Equally if not more fun because I just like the feel of the 750 hulls over the sxr. They feel smaller and just better, it's hard to describe. The only sxr I have been on that doesn't feel big is my brother's superstock 1100 with a hull that has been extensively modded by mtrhead.

As far as a general overall riding ski, I do have more fun on my 09 SJ. But this ski, when you're out chasing buoys, doing what it's set up to do, is something that I really enjoy. I wish I had it out 9/23 when we were running buoys with a bunch of guys. When it's in its element it's pretty darn good.

Now, all that said, if I can find the right buyer I am contemplating selling this ski. Right now engine is pulled as I was contemplating an 1100 swap. But I just have too many projects. This really tugs at me because I love this thing. But, as those closest to me know, I was in a highway accident this past summer where I lost two skis when a lady hit my trailer, causing it to flip. Praise God my wife and I were ok, my Jeep didn't flip, and we had eye witnesses who could verify what happened.

It breaks my heart what was done to those skis and I'm going to do what's necessary to get them back up and running. Thankfully one, the 2009 SJ, was completely replaced thanks to insurance and Apollon on here. The wrecked SJ is rebuildable and I'm going to start a build thread soon. And the other ski, way, way more sad.. a build thread coming for it's replacement as well. Anyway, all this is gonna take a bunch of $$$ and the Pro I'd like to find a nice home to help pay for some of this. So if you're interested please drop me a line.
